Step by Step
Visit three coastal towns in Asturias – Luarca, Cudillero and Avilés – on this one-day excursion from Oviedo. As well as visiting them, you’ll learn all about them from the tour guide who will be with you throughout. Each town is about 30 km apart, but this won’t be a problem, as all transport for the tour is included .
During the 9 hours you’ll spend on this experience, you’ll learn about the customs and history of each of the towns you visit. You’ll find more traditional places that still retain their roots, whilst others have taken on a much more modern look.
Luarca is a small fishing town where the sea has been the main source of livelihood. Situated by the sea, this beautiful spot is surrounded by mountains that blend into the water. Whilst visiting the town, you’ll also discover the birthplace of Nobel Prize-winning physician Severo Ochoa.
Cudillero is a small village built on a hill, with the houses terraced and little space to move about. This gives it a unique appearance that is very appealing to visitors. After taking a guided tour of its historic centre, you’ll have free time in Cudillero to eat wherever you like or explore the streets on your own.
Avilés is the third-largest city in Asturias. As such, you’ll find all sorts of shops here, from clothes shops and restaurants to bakeries and much more. In this city, you’ll delve deeper into the history of the Asturians, which is mainly focused on the industrial sector, particularly mining.
