Step by Step

Start the day by exploring Coyoacán, one of Mexico City’s most iconic neighbourhoods. Its squares, cobbled streets, colonial façades and lively atmosphere make it the perfect place to stroll around and discover the capital’s history and cultural life.

Depending on the option you choose, you’ll be able to visit the Frida Kahlo Museum, known as the Casa Azul. This is where the artist was born, lived and died, and her rooms, personal belongings and artworks offer a deeper insight into the relationship between her life, her identity and her artistic output. Admission to the museum is only included in the most comprehensive option.

The tour continues through Ciudad Universitaria, where you’ll admire the famous murals on the Rector’s Office and the Central Library. These monumental works transform the campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico into a veritable open-air gallery that chronicles different stages of the country’s history.

You’ll then arrive in Xochimilco, one of the city’s most traditional neighbourhoods. There, you’ll board a trajinera to glide along its canals whilst enjoying its colours, music and distinctive atmosphere. You’ll also have time to explore the craft market or sample local produce.

When booking, you can choose to take the tour without a meal, add lunch at a local restaurant, or select the option that combines lunch with admission to the Frida Kahlo Museum. This allows you to tailor the day to suit your preference, whether you’d prefer a more flexible experience or a fully organised programme.

Xochimilco is very touristy, but it was a lot of fun and Coyoacán was nice to walk around and had decent prices despite being very crowded.
