Step by Step
This 2-day Niagara Falls tour from New York is ideal if you want to get out of the big city and discover some of the most iconic scenery in the northeastern United States without worrying about the logistics. The tour starts in New York City, where you'll board a bus heading upstate. En route, the first major stop along the way is the Corning Museum of Glass, a museum dedicated to the history, art and science of glass, with pieces dating back more than 3,500 years and glassblowing demonstrations (admission is optional and not included).
In season, the itinerary may also include a stop at Watkins Glen State Park and the Finger Lakes region, one of the most beautiful natural sites in New York State, with gorges, waterfalls and trails through rock formations. This visit to the park is optional and depends on whether it is open to the public, as it is closed at certain times of the year due to weather conditions.
At the end of the first day you will arrive in the Niagara Falls area (American side), where you will stay in a hotel included in the package, with the option of booking a standard room or a stay with panoramic views of the falls, depending on the category chosen in the booking. In the evening, the programme includes a night tour of Niagara Falls State Park, a must-do experience to see the waterfalls illuminated and, on selected dates, enjoy a fireworks display over the water.
The second day is devoted entirely to the Falls. You will have the option of booking the classic Niagara Falls tour at your destination, the content of which varies according to the season. In summer, when the boat is in operation, the tour includes Maid of the Mist, a visit to Cave of the Winds and a stop at Whirlpool State Park, where you can watch the swirling river. In winter, when Maid of the Mist is not operating, the classic tour is adapted to include Cave of the Winds, Whirlpool State Park and Old Fort Niagara, a historic fortress overlooking Lake Ontario.
After spending the morning and part of the afternoon in the Niagara area, the bus will head back to New York, where you will arrive at the end of the day with the feeling of having experienced an intense and very complete getaway, combining museums, nature, waterfalls by day and night, and some of the most famous icons of the East Coast of the United States.
