There are several options for accessing London's legendary Ferris wheel , depending on the time and money you want to spend:

  • A standard ticket for the London Eye, which starts at ₹3,566, is the most economical option. However, you will have to wait in line to get in. I recommend purchasing your ticket online in advance.
  • The fast-track ticket for the London Eye, which starts at ₹5,349, is ideal if you have a flexible budget and value your time. You can book a time slot to access the wheel and thus better organise your trip. This option is also very interesting for families with children, as you will enter the cabin more quickly, which is something to bear in mind so that the little ones don't get tired or impatient.

As the London Eye is one of London's main attractions, there are tickets that combine the ride with another experience, so you can save a bit of money.

Westminster and London Eye tour

If, for example, you plan to see Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Trafalgar Square, you can take advantage of a package that includes the Westminster tour and tickets for the London Eye.

With this 4-hour experience, you will have the opportunity to visit some of the most iconic sights in the British capital with a professional guide and enjoy wonderful views. You will also be able to witness the changing of the royal guard.

London Eye, Big Bus sightseeing tour and Thames cruise

The Hellotickets website also offers a package that includes three very popular experiences: tickets for the London Eye, a pass for the Big Bus sightseeing tour and a cruise on the Thames, an ideal way to explore the city by land, by air and from above.

You can admire some of the city's most famous landmarks and points of interest, such as Big Ben, Saint James Park, Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park, Notting Hill and Piccadilly Circus, among others. And you won't miss a thing, as the experience includes an audio guide with recorded commentary.

As for the bus tour, you can choose between two routes, one lasting around 1 hour and 20 minutes, or the more comprehensive 2 hour and 30 minute tour.

London tour and London Eye

And the most comprehensive option, which is my favourite, gives you the chance to see all the essentials of this wonderful city: the London tour and tickets for the London Eye. An experience lasting no less than 10 hours, accompanied by a professional guide.

You will see the most famous monuments such as St Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London, tour the city and, of course, enjoy the wonderful panoramic views from the Ferris wheel.

Visitors to the London Eye can benefit from reduced rates on tickets for certain age groups, such as children between the ages of 3 and 15.

For example, from £33 you can get a standard child's ticket to the wheel, while from £42 you can buy a child's ticket without queuing. At the London Eye itself, you can purchase these tickets from £35 and £46, respectively.

On the other hand, some groups that are also eligible for discounts and can save money on their visit to the London Eye are students with an NUS or ISIC card, groups of more than 7 people (15% discount) and more than 10 (20% discount), and families with at least one adult and two children (13% discount).

Can I go on the London Eye with a tourist card? How much does it cost?

Yes! If you plan to spend several days in London and are thinking of buying a tourist card, a visit to the London Eye is included in both the London Pass and the London Explorer Pass.

Buying one of these tourist passes is a good idea if you are going to be in London for at least 4 days and want to do lots of activities during your stay in London. Not only will you save money on the price of individual attraction tickets, but you'll also save time as they allow faster access to the attractions.

To find out more about these tourist passes, I recommend reading the post The best tourist card in London, which analyses each one in detail so you can choose the one that suits you best.

How much does it cost to get to the London Eye?

The London Eye is located in the heart of London, so it won't cost you anything to get there if you're taking a stroll around the Big Ben and Westminster Palace area, for example.

However, if you prefer to get there by public transport, you can also do so as it is in a very well-connected area. In my opinion, the underground is the fastest way to get there (the nearest station is Waterloo) and a single ticket costs from €6 depending on the zone you are travelling in.

As public transport in London is a little expensive, if you want to save money on your trips around the city, I recommend getting an Oyster Card (a rechargeable card that reduces the price of single tickets) or a Travelcard (a card for unlimited use for a period of time). If you are going to be travelling a lot, you also have the option of booking a seat on the London tourist bus.
