Wadowice and Czestochowa Day Trip from Krakow

This tour begins with collection from your hotel or accommodation. Board a minibus and set off from Kraków to enjoy a journey to Wadowice, the birthplace of Pope John Paul II, and Częstochowa, the religious capital of Poland.

Both cities, situated in southern Poland, played a significant role in the life of Karol Wojtyla, Pope John Paul II.

In Wadowice, the birthplace of Pope John Paul II, you’ll visit the main square where several monuments have been erected in his memory; as a result, the square is now named John Paul II Square in his honour. On this tour of the first Polish Pope’s hometown, you’ll see the parish church where young Karol was baptised and the secondary school he attended.

This full-day excursion includes a visit to the John Paul II Family Home Museum, where objects and mementoes belonging to the family and to Karol himself are on display. After your visit, you can enjoy a break with a coffee and sample the famous cream cakes known as ‘kremowka’.

On arrival in Częstochowa, one of Poland’s oldest cities, you’ll be able to admire the miraculous icon of the Black Madonna, housed in the Jasna Góra Monastery . During your visit, you’ll be accompanied by one of the Pauline monks, who will guide you on your tour of this Catholic sanctuary.
