Step by Step

This Arctic nature tour from Tromsø takes you out of the city to discover the landscapes that make northern Norway so special. You’ll travel by minibus through Kvaløya, an island characterised by deep fjords, rugged mountains, beaches and small coastal settlements, making various stops to enjoy the surroundings and take photographs.

One of the highlights of the route is Ersfjordbotn, from where you can admire one of the most photogenic fjord landscapes in the Tromsø area. During the tour, there will also be opportunities to try and spot reindeer, moose or sea eagles, although as these are wild animals, their presence can never be guaranteed.

The route continues towards Sommarøy, known for its small islands, white sandy beaches and the vivid colour of its waters. Here you’ll enjoy a scenic stop and a light picnic accompanied by hot drinks – the perfect moment to relax whilst taking in one of the most stunning coastal landscapes in the Norwegian Arctic.

And you won’t have to worry too much about the cold: during the outdoor stops, thermal suits and boots are provided where necessary.     The natural beauty of Tromso is absolutely breathtaking and the tour is very well organised, but the weather can be quite unpredictable, so be sure to bring appropriate clothing.
