Step by Step
Stepping into Chocoversum means tracing the journey of chocolate from long before it becomes a bar. During the tour, you’ll discover how cocoa is born, how it’s grown and what happens at each stage until it achieves that flavour and texture we recognise from the very first bite.
The tour is designed to be interactive, not just for watching. Throughout the different stations , you’ll be able to smell, touch and taste various products whilst gaining a better understanding of the factors that influence the quality of chocolate and why not all bars taste the same.
The six tastings included accompany the tour and make the visit a much more enjoyable experience. Each tasting allows you to compare nuances, textures and flavours whilst discovering where they come from and how they’re made.
You’ll also learn about some of the challenges associated with sustainable cocoa farming, gaining an insight into the product’s origins and everything that goes into something as everyday as a bar of chocolate.
To finish off, you’ll be able to unleash your creative side by making your own homemade chocolate bar. Choose your favourite ingredients, create a combination to suit your taste and take it home with you as a souvenir of the experience.
Reviews
- II.We left knowing a fair bit more about cocoa and with our very own chocolate bar in hand. You couldn’t ask for much more.
- FF.A good mix of museum, workshop and tasting. It doesn’t feel as though you’re doing the same activity for an hour and a half.
- LL.The guide’s German was a bit fast for me at times, but the demonstrations meant I was able to follow him.
- GG.The experience is quite sensory; you literally experience the process through various senses.
