The Parc National Des Calanques is one of the great natural treasures of the French Côte d'Azur. For many it is the most faithful representation of the beauty that the Mediterranean coast has to offer and is a rather wild and rugged terrain about 20 km long and about 4 km wide.

The turquoise waters along its length allow for kayaks and small boats and it is undoubtedly one of the favourite destinations for Marseille families.

So a trip to the national park, which is located just a few kilometres from the centre of Marseille, is an excellent choice. In fact, it is one of the best things to do in Marseille in summer, as the water temperatures make it a great way to escape the heat that prevails in Europe during this time of the year.
